## A free Community build with supporter-funded development

![Mine-imator Vexel Build logo inside a volumetric render scene](https://vexelmineimator.com/images/product/mivb-promo.png)_Vexel Build focuses on better Mine-imator output while keeping the workflow familiar._

Mine-imator Vexel Build is a Vexel Studios build of Mine-imator for creators who want better Minecraft animation renders without losing the workflow they already know. The project starts from a simple promise: the Community edition stays free, and supporter funding gives the build enough momentum to keep improving.

This launch is not a separate animation tool or a replacement for the Mine-imator workflow. Vexel Build keeps the familiar scene, timeline, camera, and render flow, then adds visual upgrades, release infrastructure, and practical workflow features around it.

The site now reflects that model clearly. Community users get stable releases after 6-8 weeks, while Creator and Studio supporters fund development and receive immediate stable releases plus v1.2.0 beta access for now.

## Volumetric rendering

v1.2.0 beta

![Mine-imator Vexel Build volumetric rendering preview](https://vexelmineimator.com/images/product/volumes.png)_v1.2.0 beta introduces procedural volumes for atmospheric Minecraft animation scenes._

The most visible work right now is v1.2.0 beta. This beta adds early procedural volumetric rendering, so scenes can use fog, smoke, clouds, light-beam style effects, and atmospheric volume objects instead of relying only on flat visual tricks.

The volume system includes presets and controls for color, extinction color, density, scattering, absorption, anisotropy, and edge softness. Procedural noise controls cover amount, scale, detail, contrast, threshold, softness, and seed, which helps volumes feel less uniform.

Animated wind and turbulence make volume noise move over time, and light interaction adds volume strength, shadowing, self-shadowing, and light rays through objects. Render controls for quality, samples, jitter, shadow samples, and blur strength give creators a practical way to tune the result.

v1.2.0 beta is Creator and Studio only for now. Community users still get stable public releases after the 6-8 week release window.

## HDR glow that behaves better

v1.2.0 beta

![Mine-imator Vexel Build HDR glow render preview](https://vexelmineimator.com/images/product/hdr-glow.png)_HDR glow and bloom help emissive materials read cleaner in finished Minecraft animation shots._

HDR glow and bloom are part of the same visual push. Bright and emissive materials can now drive stronger glow results, with updated glow controls and render behavior for emissive blocks, lava, custom materials, and stylized scene lighting.

The beta cycle also includes glow stability work. HDR emission glow is being tuned around real animation scenes so bloom feels useful without overpowering materials, silhouettes, or dense lighting setups.

These changes matter because glow and atmosphere usually show their problems in motion. Vexel Build is being tuned around finished animation output, not only still screenshots.

## Torch renderer

![Torch renderer preview in Mine-imator Vexel Build](https://vexelmineimator.com/images/product/torch-renderer.png)_Torch is the active realtime renderer for the current Vexel Build experience._

Torch is the active realtime renderer for the current Vexel Build experience. It is the renderer path creators use now for fast iteration, viewport checks, and finished realtime output.

The renderer cleanup work removes older Vanilla and Vanilla+ naming paths and makes Preview and Final rendering easier to understand. Preview is for working quickly while Final is for the cleaner output pass.

Creator and Studio supporters can test current beta renderer work early, while Community users receive stable Torch updates after the public release window.

## Beacon renderer

![Beacon renderer preview in Mine-imator Vexel Build](https://vexelmineimator.com/images/product/beacon-renderer.png)_Beacon is the planned future path-traced renderer direction for Vexel Build._

Beacon is the planned future path-traced renderer direction for Vexel Build. It represents the longer-term renderer path for more advanced final-image lighting.

Beacon is visible as a future renderer path, but it is not available in the current build and should be treated as roadmap work rather than a shipped feature.

The goal for Beacon is different from Torch: Torch keeps the current realtime Mine-imator workflow moving, while Beacon points toward a more advanced final-render path later.

## Workflow and release foundation

Vexel Build is not only renderer work. v1.1.0 added animatable scenery blocks, which makes it possible to import scenery as separate block objects, then select, transform, and keyframe individual blocks while preserving their textures and materials.

The launch foundation also includes Alt-stretch keyframe editing, update channels, auto-updater support, authenticated downloads, installer update detection, a modern installer UI, account access groundwork, crash reporting, and release pipeline groundwork.

The GameMaker 2026 LTS migration is also part of the long-term plan. It prepares the project for newer tooling, stricter diagnostics, and safer future development, even when the direct user-facing changes are not immediately visible.

## What each access path means

The free Community edition is the public stable path. It includes commercial use, Discord community support, and stable releases after 6-8 weeks.

Creator is for individual creators who want immediate stable releases, v1.2.0 beta access, volumetrics and HDR glow beta features, Torch renderer beta updates, priority Discord support, and feature-request voting.

Studio is for teams that need pooled seats, team license management, seat transfers, a private Discord support channel, higher-priority feature requests, onboarding, and Creator+ beta access across seats.

## What comes next

The next priority is feedback from real Mine-imator scenes. Volumetric controls, performance, render quality, glow behavior, and Preview/Final rendering need to be tested in the kinds of shots creators actually ship.

That feedback loop is why supporter access matters. Creator and Studio supporters get the earliest builds, and their testing helps shape the stable releases that later reach the free Community edition.

The blog will continue to cover release notes, renderer work, practical guides, community updates, and development context as Vexel Build moves toward the next visual milestones.
